Rector of the Jagiellonian University announces a contest for the position of Scientific Assistant at the MAŁOPOLSKA CENTRE OF BIOTECHNOLOGY.

Eligible contestants must meet the requirements in art. 109, which was established in 27.07.2005 followed by the Law on Higher Education (Dz. U. nr 164, poz. 1365, z późn. zm.) and meet the following qualification criteria:

1. Possess a doctoral degree or in exceptional cases a master's degree
2. High dissertation or thesis evaluation with a scientific supervisors confirmation
3. An opinion from a department director or academic supervisor in regards to the qualifications and abilities of the candidate to research and teaching. In the case of a candidate without a doctoral degree, provide the information on the prospects of obtaining a PhD
4. Overall scientific achievements in addition to a dissertation and other leading positions
5. In the case of possessing doctoral degree – active participation in scientific life manifesting itself, in particular, in the speeches at conferences and symposiums.

The ideal candidate should:

1. Be a graduate with a degree in biotechnology, biochemistry, chemical biology, molecular biology or closely related discipline
2. Have expertise in designing and producing protein cage structures
3. Have expertise in advanced protein engineering
4. Have expertise in protein expression and purification of cage proteins
5. Have experience of atomic force microscopy of biological molecules
6. Have familiarity with standard biophysical analysis methods including X-ray diffractions fluorescence spectroscopy, circular dichroism etc.
7. Have international experience (scientific research outside of Poland for no less than 3 years)
8. Have a good ability in scientific English
9. Be a co-author of publications in journals from the ISIS Web of Science list (minimum of 3 in last 3 years)
